Validate XML against XSD

Choose your XML, root schema and any local dependencies. Select XSD 1.0 or 1.1, then review validation feedback beside the original XML.

Step 1: Choose your XML

Original XML stays in your browser. Task inputs: up to 8 MiB combined.

  1. Step 2: Validate in the editor

Your XML and attached schemas open together in Tools. Run the selected XSD validator and review diagnostics.

  2. Step 3: Review and keep a copy

Edit XML with undo, validate again and download a copy. Save an XML project to keep schemas and settings.

Work with the original document

Continue in the shared XML workspace with source and element outline. Back to website keeps it mounted; Resume editor returns to it. Browser sessions are temporary, so download work you want to keep.

Explicit local schema resources

Attach imports and includes yourself. This entry supports flat filenames; the XSD 1.0 editor can remap resource URIs. Missing dependencies produce errors without network fetches.

Frequently asked questions

Does this support XSD 1.0 and XSD 1.1?

Choose explicitly. XSD 1.0 uses the local libxml2 engine with a 10-second timeout. XSD 1.1 uses xmlschema 4.2.0 in a local Python/WASM runtime with a 30-second timeout; its first load downloads runtime assets. Input XML and schemas stay in the browser.

How are schema imports and includes resolved?

Attach the root schema first and then its local dependency files. This entry accepts unique flat filenames and relative imports by filename. The editor can remap XSD 1.0 resource URIs. Missing or remote resources report an error; they are not fetched automatically.

What are the input limits?

This task entry accepts at most 8 MiB combined input and 64 dependency files. XSD 1.1 also checks the decoded UTF-8 combined input budget. Ordinary XML editing supports files up to 25 MiB; larger files use bounded previews. Save an XML project to keep schemas with the document; an XML download does not embed schemas.
