Frequently asked questions

Does my XML file get uploaded?

No. Selected and pasted XML contents are processed in your browser. Ordinary page and asset requests still reach the hosting provider. You do not need an account to use the viewer or editor.

How do I edit XML online and save the result?

Open your file or paste XML, edit the source beside the element outline, and review validation feedback. Undo and redo let you review changes. Download your edited XML to save a copy on your device.

Does formatting preserve XML namespaces?

Qualified element and attribute names and namespace declarations are retained. Formatting avoids changing mixed-content text. Review the generated XML before downloading a copy.

Can I validate XML against an XSD?

Yes. Attach the root XSD and the local files it imports or includes, then run schema validation. Missing resources produce an error instead of a network request. Schemas are not embedded in the XML you download.

Can I open large XML files?

Files up to 25 MiB open for full source editing. Larger files open as bounded read-only previews, with tools to inspect the complete original and download its original bytes. A preview is not the complete document.
